Overview
The Salkantay Trek 5 days / 4 nights is one of the most scenic and adventurous routes to Machu Picchu. This trek is a popular alternative to the Inca Trail, offering diverse landscapes, fewer crowds, and a more remote Andean experience. If you are looking for a longer and more complete experience, consider the Salkantay Trek Package 7 Days.
Along the route, you will hike through high mountain passes, cloud forests, and valleys, with impressive views of the Salkantay Mountain, one of the highest peaks in the region. Another excellent trekking alternative to Machu Picchu is the Inca Jungle Trek to Machu Picchu.
This trek combines natural beauty, cultural encounters, and a rewarding journey that ends with a guided visit to Machu Picchu. For travelers with limited time, the Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu 2 Days is also a great option.
